City Theater Middelburg.
Sustainable in a beautiful way? It can! Solarix has been commissioned by the Municipality of Middelburg to make the city theater in the historic city more sustainable. With this project, the municipality wants to show that it is also possible to generate sustainable energy on an architecturally valuable building in a historic environment.
The color options of the Solarix Line Collection have been used for the design, in which the lines provide a subtle color reference to stage curtains. The vertically placed panels adorn both sides of the main entrance of the Schouwburg like stage curtains.
During the design process, Solarix also took the existing architecture as a starting point, so that the matted coloured solar facade panels fit seamlessly into the environment. In this way a dynamic facade is created that ensures an extra high energy yield.
