Pharos with solar panel facade wins SHARE award

Oct 11, 2021

The multi-company building Pharos in Hoofddorp won the municipal sustainability prize SHARE Award 2021 at the beginning of October. Studio Solarix is proud that they have been able to contribute to the Pharos collective with the realization of a unique design solar panel facade.

Alderman Marja Ruigrok presented the tenth SHARE Award on 6 October during SHARE Meets Food on the De Olmenhorst estate. According to the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer, the building is “a great calling card”, according to the jury report.

“Pharos perseveres in shaping their vision, shows guts and sets an example for others. Even in this time with the consequences of a pandemic, Pharos continues to believe in what it stands for. In Pharos, all facets of sustainable innovation come together to make this business and meeting location the ‘healthiest working community in Europe’” (HCnieuws.nl).

The SHARE Award recognizes the sustainable and innovative approach of Pharos Hoofddorp, which has been realized with a collective of more than 20 innovations. Cairn Real Estate renovated and redeveloped the existing building in collaboration with Architectenbureau Cube architecten and interior architect Sheryl Leysner.

Studio Solarix acted in the Pharos collective as both an advisor and the designer of the solar panel facade. In collaboration with partners Sorba, Kuijpers, Techdynamics and Kameleon Solar, we realized 247m2 solar panels facades on Pharos. This design solar panel facade provides a compensation of 9,450 kg CO2 per year.
